<p>In its central location on Colchester&#8217;s High Street, this is one of the city&#8217;s more sophisticated places to meet friends for drinks. The Baroque Bar, along with the Venetian and Library Lounges, has a private member&#8217;s club aesthetic with it&#8217;s solid wood, leather and velvet decor. You can find the Brasserie menu here for casual dining, or there&#8217;s the Michelin recommended restaurant. The afternoon tea at Greyfriars is pretty spectacular too and can be enjoyed in the Baroque Bar; the silk-draped Rose Room with its 18th century panelling, or the more modern Art Deco inspired Cloisters. The bedrooms at Greyfriars are sympathetically decorated to reflect the buildings history, from the 18th to the 21st century restoration.</p>
