<p>Say goodbye to 2025 and hello to the Roaring Twenties (jazz-hands at the ready) at the Gatsby-style <a href="https://greenwoodshotel.com/new-years-eve-2025/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">New Year&#8217;s Eve Gala</a> at <a href="https://greenwoodshotel.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Greenwoods Hotel &amp; Spa</a>, Stock. Expect full on glamour with a sparkling cocktail on arrival and a sumptuous three-course meal with wine, before the live band and DJ keep you swivelling into the new year. Price is £135 per person, or an overnight accommodation package is £469 for two. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-family-friendly">Family friendly?</h2>



<p>If you prefer your NYE memories to be family-friendly these days, head to <a href="https://www.orsetthall.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Orsett Hall</a>, Orsett, for the <a href="https://www.orsetthall.co.uk/orsett-hall-events/Christmas-Family-Events" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">New Year&#8217;s Eve Family Party</a>. Kicking off at 7.30pm, there will be kid-friendly food (pizza and mini doughnuts all round), the highly amusing Moji Children&#8217;s Entertainer (between 9pm &#8211; 10pm), a DJ and of course a midnight countdown. Party winds down at 00.30am, so little ones who have refused to give in can see in the New Year before heading off to bed. Prices are £58 per adult, £29 per child. Under 2s go free, but with no food included.</p>



<p><a href="https://madisonheights.co.uk/events/new-years-eve-daytime-children-party/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Madison Heights</a>, Maldon, is throwing an early party for families with younger kids, or for those who are just aiming for an early bedtime! From 12.30pm &#8211; 3.30pm, there will be a DJ, karaoke and party games, plus a meal for the kids. And so they don&#8217;t miss out on midnight, a fake New Year Countdown at 3pm. Tickets are £10 per child, adults go free.</p>

The table is yours for the night where you can enjoy the live music, Champagne on arrival and a fabulous five-course menu, starting with the likes of truffle arancini and parfait of duck liver, followed by dishes such seared scallops, Dedham vale beef and clementine soufflé (£135 per person). If you fancy an early sitting there is also tables available from 5pm &#8211; 6pm, for a more casual, family-friendly celebration. Enjoy a three-course meal, adults, £65, and children, £25.</p>



<p>For £89.95 for three courses (plus a glass of bubbly for clinking), we think the <a href="https://masonsrestaurant.co.uk/christmas-and-new-year/new-years-eve-in-essex" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">New Year&#8217;s Eve menu</a> at <a href="https://masonsrestaurant.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Masons</a>, Brentwood, is incredibly reasonable, given the high quality we know they serve. Tuck into South Indian curried duck strudel, sweet chilli Essex venison or tempura soft shell crab, and that&#8217;s just to start! There will be a DJ to see you in to the new year too.</p>

Plus a rather intriguing Enchanted Magic Mushroom Forest for dessert! For £125 per person you get enjoy the full menu, plus live music, DJ and entertainment.</p>

<p>Want to hear Big Ben go bong up close this year? If you&#8217;re planning on heading into London for the <a href="https://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/london-nye/#tickets" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Mayor of London&#8217;s New Year&#8217;s Eve Fireworks</a> then make sure you&#8217;ve booked tickets in advance. There are six different ticketed areas you can book (worth knowing if you&#8217;re meeting a crowd), and cost between £20 &#8211; £55, plus a £2.66 booking fee (expect to pay at the higher end of the scale, the discounted tickets are for London residents only).</p>



<p>Can&#8217;t be doing with travelling or queuing? We don&#8217;t blame you, especially when you can see a banging display at <a href="https://www.visitsouthend.co.uk/event/new-years-eve-seafront-fireworks/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Southend Seafront</a>. At 6pm there will be a family-friendly display, ideal for little ones and those you can&#8217;t keep their eyes open past 10pm. And at midnight another round of oohs and aahs to see in the New Year. You&#8217;ll get a view all along the seafront, but City Beach is the prime spot. No need to book and completely free (bar Southend&#8217;s parking fees). All you need is a bag of doughnuts and a warm hat!</p>
