The leaves transform to golden and red, plus that crisp air makes you want to wrap up and head out to enjoy nature&#8217;s most colourful season. <a href="https://www.rhs.org.uk/gardens/hyde-hall" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">RHS Garden Hyde Hall</a>’s the place to visit when you want just that: open from 10am throughout autumn and winter, the garden becomes ablaze in a crescendo of colour. Every day brings new tones and textures, and the ever-changing landscapes are perfect for days out.</p>

<p>Throughout <a href="https://www.rhs.org.uk/gardens/hyde-hall" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">RHS Garden Hyde Hall</a> the trees put on an incredible show, with ash, prunus and liquid ambers taking on beautiful fiery tones. Then there&#8217;s the abundance of crab apple trees, laden with colourful fruit. Swathes of ornamental grasses create an enchanting experience on the slope of Clover Hill, while delicate plumes catch the light and shimmer in the breeze.</p>

<p>The Gardeners Rest Restaurant has just released its autumn menu, with vegetable massaman curry with scented basmati rice, naan crisps and toasted cashew nuts just one of the dishes to tempt you. Much of the produce also comes directly from <a href="https://www.rhs.org.uk/gardens/hyde-hall" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">RHS Garden Hyde Hall</a>’s Global Growth Vegetable Garden, which supports sustainable practices, has zero food miles and ensures each dish is packed with fresh and tasty flavours.</p>

<p>Let your brood play at <a href="https://www.rhs.org.uk/gardens/hyde-hall" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">RHS Garden Hyde Hall</a>’s Higgledy Hyde, a wooden tower with lookout point, balancing beams, seesaw, slide and climbing bars. Next, head to the bird hide to spot feathered friends, while at the Global Growth Vegetable Garden they can learn where their food comes from. There&#8217;s also plenty of items for little ones in the Garden Centre, including a great selection of books.</p>

<p>The Garden Centre&#8217;s the perfect place to get your outside space ready for spring, with unique plants and bulbs, gardening tools and accessories, plus houseplants, gifts and homeware –  many of which come from local producers and UK suppliers to align with <a href="https://www.rhs.org.uk/gardens/hyde-hall" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">RHS Garden Hyde Hall</a>’s sustainability ethos. We love that 80% of the plants sold come from UK growers and nurseries.</p>

Kids can enjoy <a href="https://www.rhs.org.uk/gardens/hyde-hall/whats-on/half-term-at-hyde-hall" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">half term fun</a> from <strong>26-3 Nov</strong>: think Halloween trail, craft making, face painting, interactive storytelling walk and more. There&#8217;s also a <a href="https://www.rhs.org.uk/shows-events/viewevent?EFID=4751&amp;ESRC=CMS" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Carvery Lunch</a> on <strong>20 Oct</strong>, as well as Chelmsford Art Society&#8217;s <a href="https://www.rhs.org.uk/shows-events/viewevent?EFID=1685&amp;ESRC=CMS" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">annual exhibition</a> (<strong>2-11 Nov</strong>).
