The Old Farmhouse, Finchingfield
A stunning 16th century farmhouse with fabulous period features, beautiful bedrooms, and a hot tub with a view.
Searching for a hidden gem of a holiday home? You’ve come to the right place. This charming, red-hued farmhouse is tucked away at the end of its very own private lane – just a short (six miles to be precise) drive from the picture-perfect village of Finchingfield.
Set on a 400-acre working farm and vineyard (bonus!), this luxury countryside let strikes just the right balance between old and new. So, if like this Muddy Editor, you love a good wood burner and an exposed beam but can’t live without a Super-King and Smart TV, then this is the rural retreat for you.
Downstairs, there’s a contemporary open-plan kitchen – complete with Rangemaster cooker – a beam-clad dining area, drawing room and snug. And, of course, it wouldn’t be a Muddy-approved stay without a muddy boot room! Upstairs, there are three stylish bedrooms (two with en-suites and all with great views) and three bathrooms. What’s outside? Throw open the kitchen’s bi-fold doors and step out onto the lovely patio area with Bushbeck BBQ, smoker and wood-fired hot tub. You might even spot one of the resident miniature donkeys and Shetland ponies while you’re enjoying a tipple or two. Cute. Unfortunately, there are no other animals (aka pets) allowed. Sorry, pooches!
How about some great local grub? Head to nearby pub The Fox on the Green – you won’t be disappointed!
