Looking to try something new this year and participate in something so fun it doesn’t feel like fitness? Say hello to Brentwood’s Nuclear Races, a multi-award winning outdoor obstacle course that hosts a series of exciting races throughout the year. There’s something for everyone, with the children’s Rookie Races (suitable for ages 4+), Family Races, as well as events for adults who want to have a laugh in the mud and foam.

The season kicks off with the Nuclear Rush Weekend in May, a chip-timed event covering a range of muddy obstacles and with various age and distance options available.

Then there’s Nuclear Essex’s Mud Tribe event in September, which should definitely be on your radar. Suitable for all fitness levels, there’s 1.5km to 6km course options, comprising a series of fun obstacles, mud, foam, shallow water and more. The perfect event to participate for fun – or support your chosen charity – there’s three categories to choose from: Mud Tribe, Mud Tribe Blast and Mud Tribe Sisters, all in an encouraging and supportive environment. And Nuclear Races also hosts a race in November, Nuclear Fallout, perfect for those brave enough to compete in the cold. It’s all about mud, sweat and cheers!
