Crouch Ridge Estate, Chelmsford

In the heart of the Crouch Valley wine region, Crouch Ridge Estate is the Essex Vineyard to visit. The sort of place you’ll go for the wine and stay for the incredible view (and maybe another glass).

The Crouch Ridge Estate, nestled in the Crouch Valley Wine region, is must-visit for wine lovers. With vineyards growing a variety of grapes, including Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir, Crouch Ridge produces award winning wines from Sparkling Cuvee to 100% Burgundy-style Pinot Noir.

From Easter to the end of October, there is a wide range of experiences on offer at Crouch Ridge, from self-guided wine tastings to popular vineyard tours and guided wine tastings, with new wine tastings added seasonally to ensure there is something new every time you visit.

Open from 11am to 6pm, Fri – Sun and bank holiday Mondays for wine tastings, tours, lunches including sharing boards and afternoon tea. There is a large indoor space in the Wine Barn and additional space outside on raised terraces and vineyard picnic benches overlooking unrivalled views of the River Crouch.

There’s events too, going on throughout the season, including Jazz in the Vines in June during English Wine Week and fun wine & dine experiences, where wines are paired with deliciously locally produced food.
