From shared desks to networking events, this village hub is all about the social side of things – great if you’re missing seeing actual humans post Covid. <p>Forget Starbucks, this Felsted favourite is bursting with charm and lovely, laptop-friendly tables. Fancy a feel-good cuppa? This indie bookshop and music café sells Safi coffee on request; proceeds of which go towards providing free school places for Ugandan children (an initiative sponsored by Muddy-approved Felsted School). Plus, if you fancy sticking around post 5pm, you might even get treated to some live local music. Rock on.</p>

<p>This cool café in the heart of Old Leigh is like a slice of East London (hello, Union coffee) in Essex. Its industrial and quirky décor – spot the renovated retro train in the middle of the room(!) – and delicious grub makes it the ideal WNH (Working Near Home) spot. Need a break? Grab a cuppa in the cute little garden outside or head to the beach for a stroll.</p>

<p>Nestled in the pretty village of Little Waltham, this gorgeous Grade II listed water mill is home to a collection of contemporary offices for locals in-the-know. Sitting on the banks of the River Chelmer, it boasts 15 characterful suites, a meeting room and a selection of hot desks. The views (think still waters and rolling countryside) are amazing FYI – perfect if you like a side of scenery with your spreadsheets.</p>
