<p>Singer Georgia Crandon grew up in Loughton and went to Theydon Bois Primary School. &#8220;My creativeness was encouraged from the teachers there,&#8221; she says. &#8220;I then went to Chigwell&#8217;s West Hatch High School, spending most of my late teens in Epping. My first ever job was behind the bar at The George &amp; Dragon in Epping High Street – I wrote songs in my head while pouring pints! – and the first gig I played with my own band was at Buckhurst Hill Cricket Club.&#8221;<br><br>Now promoting her <a href="https://www.staticwax.co.uk/georgia-crandon-debut-album" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">self-titled debut album</a>, the singer and songwriter talks her favourite Essex haunts she hangs out in when she&#8217;s time.</p>

<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ve been a regular here since I was five years old. When my brother and I were in school my parents would take us here most Friday nights – and they even catered for my first ever gig! Not only is the <a href="https://theydonboisbalti.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">food delicious</a>, but Atique, Khaled and the rest of the staff treat you like family. But then again they have literally watched me grow up. I’m normally a lamb madras girl, but I definitely recommend their salmon pathia.&#8221;</p>

<p>&#8220;<a href="https://www.instagram.com/halsteadantiquecentre/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Halstead Antiques Centre</a> contains floors and floors of absolute beauty – it&#8217;s incredible. Trust me, when you visit you find hundreds of hidden gems, plus it’s very well organised and affordable. I could quite happily spend all day in the vintage clothing section.&#8221;</p>

<p>&#8220;As I<strong> </strong>grew up in Loughton I’ve taken many strolls through <a href="https://www.visiteppingforest.org" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Epping Forest</a>, especially during lockdown&#8217;s daily exercise allowance. I still like to go for long walks with my friends, particularly more towards the Epping end of the trails. Many laughs are had along those routes!&#8221;</p>

<p>&#8220;I’ve had the pleasure of visiting Down Hall in Hatfield Heath a few times, mainly for family events. That means it holds a lot of nostalgia for me. It&#8217;s a magnificent, historic building – and they also serve a wonderful afternoon tea!&#8221;</p>

<p>&#8220;This Brentwood pub is one of most favourite venues to play. I&#8217;ll never forget the first time I played at <a href="https://www.essexarmsbrentwood.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Essex Arms</a>, as that gig made me realise what kind of artist I wanted to be. It&#8217;s a fantastic pub and venue, kind of like a little bit of Noughties Camden but just outside Brentwood Station.&#8221;</p>

<p>&#8220;Braintree bar <a href="https://barnumber92.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Number 92</a> is one of the best independent bars in Essex. They serve all your classics, but most of their cocktails are designed by the owner, Matt. The wine and house spirits are also locally made in Chelmsford. Think creative cocktails, tasty cheese and charcuterie platters fused with friendly staff and great music. What more could you want?&#8221;</p>
