Congrats are in order for <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Galvin Green Man (opens in a new tab)" href="https://galvinrestaurants.com/restaurant/galvin-green-man-chelmsford/" target="_blank">Galvin Green Man</a> (above), who were recently awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand for the fifth year running to sit alongside their two AA rosettes. Want to test out the grub for yourself? Try their Bib Gourmand Menu, which is a bargainous £21.50 for a three-course lunch, or £24 for a three-course dinner.

Also on the receiving end of a Bib Gourmand is <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Kintsu in Colchester (opens in a new tab)" href="https://kintsu.co.uk/" target="_blank">Kintsu in Colchester</a> &#8211; pretty impressive, considering it&#8217;s only been open since May! Really, we shouldn&#8217;t be surprised with Paul Wendholt (two-time winner of Essex Chef of the Year) at the helm.

New menu klaxon! Buzzy bar/cafe hybrid <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Acanteen in Chelmsford (opens in a new tab)" href="https://www.acanteen.co.uk/" target="_blank">Acanteen in Chelmsford</a> has launched its brand new Spring/Summer dinner menu &#8211; we&#8217;ll be tucking into the scorched mackerel with marinated heritage tomato, dill, candied beetroot and whipped horseradish butter.

Menu changes are no big surprise at <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Dog and Pickle in Moreton (opens in a new tab)" href="https://www.dogandpickle.com/" target="_blank">Dog and Pickle in Moreton</a> (their set lunch and evening specials menus change weekly), but their new February/March a la carte menu has certainly got our mouths watering. Feast your eyes on their new starter above: crispy lamb shoulder, carrot, watercress, and lamb sauce. Do they come in main course sizes (asking for a friend)?

Foodies, rejoice! We finally have a confirmed opening date for Fête in Grays Yard, Chelmsford &#8211; this super-cool eatery is due to return to us on 8 March, so book in ASAP to get your French toast fix. 



Basildon parents will already know and love Wat Tyler Park (hello, 125 acres of country walks), but the council have just approved a brand new inclusive play park &#8211; just in time for the summer holidays (hallelujah). Due to open in June, the play area is suitable for littles of all ages and abilities, including wheelchair users. Watch this space!

Speaking of the kids, here&#8217;s some news that should keep your mini Muddies very happy indeed. The brand new <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Call of the Wild Zoo (opens in a new tab)" href="https://callofthewildzoo.co.uk/" target="_blank">Call of the Wild Zoo</a> in South Woodham Ferrers is now open, and it&#8217;s packed with all things cute and furry. Expect the likes of lemurs, meerkats, wallabies and monkeys, as well as the tropical butterfly house (fitting, as the new zoo is on the site of what used to be Tropical Wings). Tickets start at £9.99 for children aged 2+, with under 2s going free.
