<p>Here at Muddy Essex, we don’t need an excuse to pamper ourselves – especially as the nights draw in and we embrace cosy jumper season. And to give us the low-down on exactly which treatments and nail shades we should be booking in (deep burgundy nails for us, please!), we’ve asked Danielle Dunmore, salon manager at Mersea Island’s <a href="https://www.karmabeautymersea.co.uk" data-type="URL" data-id="https://www.karmabeautymersea.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Karma Beauty</a>, to give us her top tips and trend predictions for the season. <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Nailing it</strong> </h2>

<p>‘Squoval’ is always a go-to shape when it comes to nail shape in our salon – practically everyone chooses it. ‘Almond’ is also really in at the moment. In terms of colours, burgundy and deep reds are always a top hit, and warm neutral shades are also really popular.</p>



<p>Manicures and pedicures are a great treatment for your nails this time of year; they can help to remove any dead skin from these areas, and to ensure your hands are well hydrated. A lot of people are also choosing to have nail art done, which offers us a chance to get really creative. I’m expecting lots of Christmas nail art designs in weeks to come! </p>

<p>When it comes to your skin, I always recommend that people have a facial every four to six weeks. At this time of year, it’s also important to focus on hydrating your skin. For this, we’d recommend our cold protection cream, which we sell in the salon. This is such a fantastic product for the changing weather, and it’s great for people who like to be outside a lot or for those who ski.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Hydration is also key for the body. I love having a hydrating full body scrub followed by a body wrap and a massage – bliss! I also personally feel that people don’t treat themselves enough; rather than buying a pair of shoes this autumn, why not have a body treatment instead?</p>

<p>In terms of make-up, as with nails and clothes I’m seeing a lot of clients requesting neutral tones, along with pops of burgundy and reds. And, if you’re looking to get your wardrobe ready for the change in seasons too, I reckon fedora hats will be in fashion again this year. </p>
