The medieval market town is a sure fire winner for its timber-clad homes limed in salmon pink and green, interspersed with cosy pubs and independent boutiques. There’s also an arthouse cinema, twice-weekly farmers market and great schools. And with trains to London in under an hour, what are you waiting for?
